Here is a tool for comparing two ROOT trees (compareTrees.tar.gz). To use it, download and extract the folder and execute
$ compareTrees.sh <tree1.root> <tree2.root>
The tool checks which branches are included in both trees and which branches are only found in one of them. If a branch is found in both trees, the number of entries, the mean and the RMS of the corresponding histograms from both trees are compared. The default tree-name is bigtree. If you need to change it, you can adjust the variables treename1 and treename2 in compareTrees.sh.
